Corporate History
Weststar Transportation Inc. was founded in may of 1988. In Fontana, California the company started with three
trucks and
nine
trailers. It's primary business was hauling and the storage of pipe and other steel products.
In June of 1990, Weststar Transportation Inc. and J. D. Rush Co. Inc. formed a partnership, named Weststar, and
opened a
terminal in Bakersfield, California. Weststar was well received by the Oil Industry. As a result closed the Fontana terminal
four months later to focus all it's attention in Bakersfield to meet the high demands. Three years later, Weststar was a major
force in Oilfield transportation. Hauling for companies like Chevron, Shell, Mobil, Exxon, Texaco and many of the
Independents.
In 1994, 100 percent of Weststars business came from oilfields, In an effort to diversify, Weststar started hauling
general freight.
Today, Weststar has continued to expand and currently has thirty-three trucks, ninety two trailers a fleet on
sub-haulers, and a logistics department for interstate and intrastate operations. From a two-way radio system to a complex
satellite tracking system, Weststar has developed from a one-dimensional company to a modern company that can meet today's
company's logistical needs.
